How to unlock Zombies maps on Black Ops 1 PS5
The season pass is separate from the base game. We did not confirm separate PS4/PS5 purchases for each pack. The PlayStation Store lists the following content; do not confuse the expired launch discount with the prices above.
- Only one independent source was found for the PS5 unlock-code instructions: Game Rant. We did not confirm the exact in-game map-selection menu in this port.
- The download and missing-DLC procedures come from one independent source, PlayStation Support; they are general platform instructions, not a BO1-specific fix.
- After buying the game and season pass, open Game Library → Your Collection → Black Ops → Add-Ons. Choose the purchased content and Download.
- If DLC is missing, check transaction history, confirm the add-ons downloaded, restart PS5 and restore licenses. PlayStation lists reinstalling as a later step. For “Waiting to install,” also check Settings → Storage and Settings → Network → Connection Status.
| Content | Zombies maps |
|---|---|
| Base game | Kino from the start; finish the campaign or enter 3ARC UNLOCK for “Five”; enter DOA for Dead Ops Arcade |
| First Strike | Ascension |
| Escalation | Call of the Dead |
| Annihilation | Shangri-La |
| Rezurrection | Moon, Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese |
How many players: split screen and online Zombies
The PS Store lists 1–2 local players, while MP1st’s July 31 patch report says split screen was removed and remained unresolved. We cannot reconcile those sources or promise working split screen on the current build. No source supports four-player PS5 round-based Zombies split screen.
The original console player counts have only one fully read independent source here, Wikipedia. Steam’s feature list alone does not prove that a mode is absent.
| Version | Local split screen | Online / limitations |
|---|---|---|
| PS4 / PS5 port | Store lists 1–2 local players; actual split-screen availability is disputed | Zombies supports up to four online; PS Plus required. |
| Original PS3 / Xbox 360 | Two for round-based Zombies; Dead Ops Arcade can have four | Up to four online. Do not apply Dead Ops Arcade’s count to ordinary Zombies. |
| Xbox backward-compatible version | Not independently confirmed on One / Series; original 360 limit above is a reference | Uses the Xbox 360 game and its separately owned DLC. |
| Steam PC / Plutonium T5 | No confirmed native split-screen support; Steam does not advertise Shared/Split Screen | PC split-screen absence is reported by players, not established by official documentation. |
Unable to join game session on PS5: status and connection checks
“Unable to join game session,” “game session no longer available” and “the party is no longer active” are not proof of a global outage. We found no BO1-port-specific official fix for these errors. MP1st reported connection issues still present after 1.06 on July 31; we did not confirm later fixes or live server health on 2026-10-24.
Push Square describes the port as peer-hosted, rather than dedicated-server based; only one independent source was found for that architecture. The PS Store advertises PS4/PS5 cross-generation multiplayer, while rutab says matchmaking is separate. Game Rant’s FAQ contradicts itself about season-pass and non-pass matchmaking. We cannot settle these conflicts; do not promise compatibility for a particular party or map. The port does not offer PC/Xbox/PS3 cross-play according to the store’s stated platform scope and the researched port reports.
- MP1st reports PS5-priority Zombies hosting in BO1 patch 1.05 / 1.005 on July 22. This is a dated patch report, not confirmation of today’s matchmaking state.
- Only one independent source was found for each of the dated patch details above: MP1st. PlayStation supplies the general console checklist; Activision supplies the service-status tool.
- Open Activision Online Services and select Call of Duty: Black Ops; follow its platform-status links. PlayStation’s network checklist also starts with PlayStation service status.
- Use PlayStation’s general network checklist: restart the PS5, try Ethernet, power off the router/modem for at least five minutes, and check router firmware.
- Check NAT using the next section. For persistent errors, follow the official support pages rather than assuming a port update or NAT change will fix every party.
How to check or change NAT type on PS5
PlayStation is the only independent source found for these checks. Its Remote Play troubleshooting page includes PS5 connection-test steps and NAT advice for Remote Play; it is not a dedicated PS5 NAT guide or a verified BO1 error fix.
- The official PS5 network-error page lists TCP 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480 and UDP 3478, 3479, 49152–65535. These are PlayStation’s general ports, not a confirmed BO1-specific port list.
- Go to Settings → Network → Connection Status → Test Internet Connection and read the NAT result.
- PlayStation says NAT Type 3 may prevent Remote Play. Contact your internet provider about changing NAT type; there is no verified BO1-specific switch that makes it Open.
- If the basic connection checklist does not help, PlayStation also lists router port configuration, a static IP and a public DNS service. Follow the official instructions and your router/provider guidance.
How to play Black Ops 1 Zombies offline on PC
A Steam Community report describes switching Steam to Offline Mode, launching the Black Ops single-player program rather than Multiplayer, then selecting Solo. Only one independent source was found, a player report; we have not verified the procedure or every DLC entitlement offline.
What Plutonium BO1 is, and what you need
Plutonium calls its Black Ops I client T5. It is a free, unofficial community client with server lists, mod support and its own fixes; it is not endorsed by Activision. It runs on existing game files and does not include Black Ops. Use your own legitimate copy; buying BO1 on Steam is the recommended route.
Whether every player must pass Steam ownership verification was not confirmed. A third-party search snippet says ownership is mandatory, but its full guide only describes game files and the Steam folder. Unread forum snippets do not settle the rule, so we do not present mandatory Steam verification as established. Only one independent source, Plutonium’s own documentation, was found for the installation, system, mod and private-game procedures below.
- The documented requirements are 64-bit Windows 8.1, 10 or 11, a DirectX 11 GPU and 500 MB on drive C; Windows 10 version 1607 or later is recommended. Windows 7 is unsupported.
- Get the launcher from the official Plutonium site and sign in with a forum account.
- Choose SETUP beside Black Ops and select your game directory, normally C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops. Do not select the whole drive.
- If “Invalid Game Path” appears, use Game Settings beside PLAY to choose the directory again, then start the game.
Plutonium BO1 custom Zombies maps and private games
These are Plutonium’s own documented procedures, the only independent source found; we have not run them. We do not link mod downloads. Player-count-changing Easter egg mods exist, but they do not change the unmodified BO1 quest requirements.
- In the T5 storage directory, create the mods folder: %localappdata%\Plutonium\storage\t5\mods. Put the mod’s folder there. The official documentation specifies mp_ prefixes for multiplayer mods, not for all Zombies map folders.
- For a custom Zombies map, load its mod in the in-game Mods menu, then enter map followed by the map name in the console. Use the name supplied by that map; the T5 instructions do not specify a usermaps folder.
- For friends, follow each other on the Plutonium forum, then invite from the Zombies lobby. The official private-game guide suggests UPnP and a Private Windows network profile; if needed, the host forwards UDP 3074 for T5. Check Windows, antivirus and router firewalls. On the same LAN, the guide supports connect followed by the host IP.
Platform FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does the PS5 season pass include Moon? | Yes, through Rezurrection; the base game is purchased separately. |
| Can I use my PS3 DLC on PS5? | No. The PS4/PS5 port has separate purchases and progression. |
| Is BO1 down right now? | Use Activision’s live status selector and your platform status page. This guide does not monitor uptime. |
| Does Plutonium include the game or four-player local split screen? | It does not supply Black Ops. We found no confirmed native local split-screen support for T5. |
| Will changing NAT guarantee my friend can join? | No. These official network checks do not establish a fix for every BO1 session error. |
