Every Kino der Toten Easter egg at a glance
Kino der Toten has no main Easter egg quest in Black Ops 1. Everything on this page is a side secret: none of them ends the game or gives a weapon. You can do all of them in a solo game; none of our sources lists a player-count requirement.
| Secret | What you do | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| “115” song | Hold Interact on three meteor rocks, in any order | The song “115” plays |
| Film reels | Pick up reels in the teleporter side rooms and play them in the projector room | A short Maxis recording with images on the screen |
| Radios | Shoot two hidden radios | Maxis audio logs |
| Model rocket | Use the toy rocket in the conference room | The rocket flies through the ceiling |
| Main quest | None on this map | — |
How to play the “115” song: the three meteor rocks
“115” was written by Kevin Sherwood and sung by Elena Siegman. To start it, find three small glowing meteor fragments and hold Interact on each. The order does not matter.
- Sources describe the song as a once-per-game secret.
- The wooden letters near rock 3 are often read as “MANHATTAN DOWN.”
- In the 2011 mobile version the rocks were activated with the knife instead.
- Rock 1 — starting lobby. On the ground floor, go to the corner by the lower staircase. The rock sits under a glass cover on a small stand near the lower windows, behind the Quick Revive machine.
- Rock 2 — dressing room. Open the doors toward the stage through the MP5K room with the mannequins. The rock is on the dark table by the window, behind two mannequins and close to the MP5K wall weapon.
- Rock 3 — storage room between the alley and the stage. This small room has a zombie window, stairs down to the stage and wooden letters on the floor. The rock is on the shelf.
- Each time, stand still, face the rock and hold Interact until your character speaks or the red veins on the rock light up. After the third rock the song starts.
The song did not play: what to check
- You looked at a rock but did not hold Interact long enough. Wait for the voice line or the glow before walking away.
- One rock was missed. Using the same rock twice does not count for another one.
- Music volume is off in the game settings. The trigger works, but you will not hear it.
- It was already played this game. Start a new game to hear it again.
- You are playing the Black Ops 3 remaster. The rocks are in the same rooms, but the second one sits near the KN-44 instead of the MP5K.
Film reels: where they are and how to play them
Each game has three film reels. They only appear in four side rooms you can visit by accident when you use the teleporter, so first turn on the power and link the teleporter.
- Turn on the power next to the M16 on the stage, then link the stage teleporter to the round pad in the lobby.
- Teleport to the projector room (where Pack-a-Punch is). On the trip there or back, the game sometimes sends you to a random side room for about five seconds.
- Look quickly and pick up a reel if you see one. Possible spots are listed in the table below.
- On your next visit to the projector room, hold Interact on the projector. The film appears on the screen above the stage, with sound.
- Repeat until you have played all three reels.
| Side room | Where reels can be |
|---|---|
| Samantha’s room (tidy) | On the table, on the bed or leaning by the rocking chair |
| Samantha’s room (wrecked) | On the bed, against the overturned table or by the window |
| Dentist’s office | On the cart next to the chair or on one of the two counters |
| Conference room | On the TV, under the projector or on the table in front of it |
What the three films show
| Reel | Images | Recording |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Scientists running chemical tests; letters and the number 935 | Ludvig Maxis on a test subject making slow progress |
| 2 | Zombies and the number 115 | Maxis on reaching the subject’s subconscious by altering the films |
| 3 | Eyes and the Group 935 logo | Maxis on subject 26 now following orders |
The two hidden radios
Black Ops 1 Kino has two radios. Shoot each one, or hit it with an explosive, to play a Maxis recording.
- Radio 1 hangs inside the large chandelier in the theater.
- Radio 2 is on top of a distant tower beyond the barrier by Double Tap in the alley. One guide notes it may not show without a scoped weapon.
- The Black Ops 3 remaster adds a third radio with a Doctor Monty recording.
Other small secrets
- Model rocket: a toy rocket on the conference-room table launches through the ceiling. Sources disagree on what unlocks it: some say just use it, some say play all three reels first, and two newer guides add jumping five times in front of the left dressing-room mannequin.
- Portraits: the Mule Kick room has five portraits — the four characters and a silhouette. Hold Interact on them for voice lines.
- Bleeding mannequins (BO1 only): shoot the bloodstain on a dressing-room mannequin’s chest.
- Knocking crate: you can hear knocking from a crate behind a dressing-room barrier.
- Samantha’s tea party: the tidy Samantha room shows four perk bottles, a Berlin Wall model and four character dolls. Samantha’s laughter can be heard there.
- Wall writing: “Beware of the 6” in the lobby, “Knowledge itself is for the taking” above the power switch, and chalk names Samantha, Emilia and Abigail in the dressing room.

- Same: no main quest, the “115” rocks, three film reels, the rocket and the portraits.
- New in BO3: a second song, “Samantha’s Sorrow,” started by knocking on the blue alley door and shooting Samantha dolls. Guides disagree on how many dolls appear.
- New in BO3: Der Wunderfizz on the stage (Stamin-Up, Widow’s Wine, Deadshot Daiquiri), Double Tap II and a third radio.
- Gone in BO3: the bleeding mannequins.
